Description: This activity is great to teach the emotional tone of voice! It is broken down into rate, volume, pitch, and emphasis to help students learn. This resource contrasts fast speech rate versus slow speech rate, loud volume versus a soft volume, and high pitch versus a low pitch to help students learn the different emotions conveyed through tone. Then at the end, the students practice listening to sentences and consider each factor to determine what emotion the speaker is conveying. The boom cards also allow the students to record themselves as they practice for feedback. There are a total of 68 male and female voice recordings to expose the students to different voices.
