Description: Decodable readers are a great way to build student confidence in reading. This decodable story has short u words and some sight words. The first slide contains short u words and sight words that appear in the text. Words are considered sight words if the phonics skill has not yet been taught, or if the word does not follow a set phonics skill. The short u decodables come after the short a, short i, short e, and short o sets, and use some short a, i, e, and o words. This can be read individually, with a partner or, with a teacher.
