Description: This deck contains a total of 25 cards, with 112 opportunities to practice the prevocalic /st/ and /sp/ blends in words. Each practice card contains: *a picture, *the written word in red, *a microphone button to push to hear the spoken directions and target word (optional), *a draggable snowball-a number (10 or less) is revealed when child drags it. That's how many times child says the target word, *a thumbs up button-push if word articulated correctly, *a thumbs down button-push if word was not articulated correctly and the student can try again. The deck also provides a slide showing a graphic depicting both sounds in each blend. On each practice slide there is an image of a mouth producing the s sound. You can structure your sessions to have the student say the word at the word, phrase or sentence level. The SLP can identify the word as articulated correctly or you can have the student self-monitor and determine if their production was correct or not. When the word is not said correctly, the SLP provides cues or directs the student to press the ear to hear the word again. Then the student can try again. You can also assign the deck for home practice!
