Description: Teaching map skills to primary aged children is such fun. Children love to learn about maps and directions. This deck includes different activities to help your students learn and practice map skills. All cards include audio to provide assistance to your students. The first card introduces maps. The next five cards practice a few different types of maps and where you'd use them. Next, students will learn about a compass rose and the 4 major cardinal directions. They will label missing directions on a compass rose. The next activity takes them to a zoo map where they will click on animals based on their location. After this, they'll move to a town map and type in the location of an object on the map in comparison to another. In the final activity, students will be learning about a map key. They will locate and count different items on the map that are on a map key. To answer these questions they'll be dragging a number to name the amount of the object asked about. This map skills deck will be a perfect activity to introduce map skills or practice skills already learned.
