Description: Guided reading: "Let's read conversation together." 2 cards ask "What did____say? to set up a speaker listener relationship. The next card asks the student to remember what was said from a choice of 3 sentences. Social skills, management and "use your words", listen when you are upset, are themes in these problem-solving short stories. Melodic Intonation, creating a little tune sometimes helps children to self-cue what to do as well as speak in whole sentences. I ask my students to read, assisting as needed, copy a sentence and then tell me what they wrote to strengthen language processing.
