Description: These 36 task cards are differentiated and cover equivalent fractions. Cards 1 - 12 have a purple background and are the easiest cards. Using models, students are asked to type either the numerator or denominator of equivalent fractions. Students are also asked to answer yes or no when asked if fractions shown on a number line are equivalent. Cards 13 – 24 have a green background and are a little more difficult. Students are asked to type the missing numerator or denominator of equivalent fractions without the use of models. They are also asked to select an equivalent fraction given 4 multiple choice answers. Cards 25 – 36 have a blue background and are the most challenging of the questions. Students are asked to select an equivalent fraction given 4 multiple choice answers and they are also asked whether 2 fractions are equivalent given word problems. These cards are aligned to the common core 4.NF.A.1 and 5.NF.A.1.
