Description: This set is intended for teaching the steps to responsible problem solving to middle and high school students through functional Thanksgiving-based problem solving activities. First, students sort the thinkgs they like and don't like about Thanksgiving (new foods, small talk etc). Then the steps to problem solving are presented. Then, 7 communication-based scenarios and 7 ethical problems are given for students to read. Students will then: a) identify the problem from four choices, b) identify the best solution(s) from four choices, and c) evaluate, reflect upon and discuss the solution that is presented by answering an open-ended set of questions. There are also vocabulary checks and fill-in-the-blank review questions. This set is a combination of choosing the best answers from four response choices and open-ended questions that facilitate reflection and discussion. There is a home page, forward/backward buttons and a microphone icon that students can press to hear the directions and questions. Real photographs are used and multiple skin tones are represented.
