Description: Many adult students need to work on their spelling skills, but the wild and wacky world of English spelling can really overwhelm them, especially if their native language/s doesn't use the same letters. To give my students more support, I used to make worksheets with the consonants missing from words. I'd read the words, and they'd fill in the blanks. Eventually, I'd also white-out the consonant digraphs, short vowels, and then the other vowels and silent letters. BOOM cards are sooooo much more fun! :) This deck has only the consonant sounds missing. Students will not fill in any vowels. Double consonants are given. This deck isn't meant to confuse students--it's a deck for beginners who are just starting to work with the alphabet. They don't need to worry about silent letters, any consonant digraphs, or anything like that. Students will hear the name of the animal. The audio will play automatically, and they can click the icon to hear it again. They will type the missing lowercase letters. Be sure to check out my alphabet decks and my pronunciation decks for more work with sounds. All images are public domain sourced from Pixabay. The font for the words is SimplyStated.
