Description: Learning to distinguish between the past participles (has, have, had) lain and (has, have, had) laid doesn't have to be confusing. Lain means to rest or recline. Laid means to put or to place. Students will read sentences and choose between the two verbs. Each card has a reminder of the meaning of the two verbs.
