Winter Village Articulation - /z/

Description: This winter village themed deck covers /z/ articulation in the initial, medial, and final positions of words. There are 9 words per sound position. Students will construct a winter village (in a snow globe) by clicking/dragging building elements on each page (e.g., snow globe base, gingerbread man, winter house, moose, snow man, etc.). As students manipulate the snow globe elements, they will practice their /z/ sound by labeling the target images depicted on each slide. Once the snow globe is completed, students will use the map to navigate the winter village. There are 9 scenes designated for articulation activities. These can be found on page 1 of the map. In each of these scenes, students will search for hidden target articulation (/z/) images that will be dragged to a specific location on the slide. There are 3 scenes designated for open ended play. These can be found on page 2 of the map. Drag each of the items in the left column onto the background to create a scene. The winter village scenes included are: City Skating Rink, Indoor Skating Rink, Ski Slopes, Iditarod Place, Snow Day Central, Bearsville, Snowman Avenue, Penguin Palooza, and Woodland Creature Way. The open-ended scenes included are: Yeti Town, Winter Field, and Country Cottage. A vocabulary board is included in this product to help familiarize students with winter sports and concepts.
