Description
This Boom Card deck helps students understand the relationship between CVC words and CVCE words while reinforcing short vowel versus long vowel sounds. Students are shown two pictures with very similar spellings, such as “can” and “cane,” and must type the correct word below each picture to match it. This activity strengthens phonics skills, sound segmentation, and spelling accuracy while helping students recognize how a silent “e” changes the vowel sound.
