Introduce them to the power of figurative language with the book "The Day You Begin" by Jacqueline Woodson here - https://youtu.be/rkpFCyoujng Then assign them these cards where they will choose the correct figure of speech used in the example sentence. If they are correct, they will hear a ding and their answer will be circled in green. If they answer incorrectly, their answer will be circled in red and they can try again. These digital task cards would be great on a laptop, desktop, Chromebook, tablet, or any other mobile device that can access the internet. They can even be used on your Smart Board.
