Description: This deck allows students to practice beginning sound recognition. Students are instructed on how sounds are formed in their mouths - scraping the back of their tongue to the roof of the mouth to make the sounds /g/ and /k/ (velar plosives) - Loud (voiced) & Quiet (unvoiced) After instruction cards, students there are two sorting cards. Students find the beginning sounds of the object pictured and move the objects that start with Lip Poppers to the basket. This activity works on articulation and sound awareness. It is a great accompaniment to the Lindamood-Bell LiPS program - however, students will need to be shown these pictures as they are not those used in that popular program.
