Description: Help your students spell words with the R-controlled vowels ER, IR and UR! This Drag and Spell activity mimics the magnetic tiles used in many Orton-Gillingham programs, and it's a great way to build your students' phonics knowledge and introduce them to spelling words with these sounds. Using Elkonin boxes and letter tiles with one sound per letter also builds phonemic awareness! How it Works: Students see a picture and click to hear the word pronounced. Then they drag letter tiles into boxes to spell the word. Good to Know: • All the words contain ER, IR or UR and range from two to four phonemes (including consonant blends and digraphs) A few words contain a silent E at the end (nurse, swerve, nerve), but the E is already placed on the card so your students do not have to spell it. There is no sound box for the E since it does not make a sound. If you'd prefer to skip these words, you can simply hide these cards. For more R Controlled Vowel decks, please check my store. I have a range of activities at all different levels to allow you to differentiate for your students. Bundles are available at a significant discount.
