Description: This deck contains a total of 25 cards, with 100 opportunities to practice the initial /s/ and /z/ sounds in one play. Each practice card contains: *a picture, *the written word in red, *a "hear it" (ear) button to push to hear the spoken word (optional), *a draggable snowball with a number (10 or less) underneath it. Child drags snowball and says the target word that number of times. *a thumbs up button-push if word articulated correctly, *a thumbs down button-push if word was not articulated correctly and the student can try again. The deck also provides a slide showing a mouth picture depicting how the /s/ and /z/ are produced in the mouth on each practice slide. You can structure your sessions to have the student say the word at the word, phrase or sentence level. The SLP can identify the word as articulated correctly or you can have the student self-monitor and determine if their production was correct or not. When the word is not said correctly, the SLP provides cues or directs the student to press the ear to hear the word again. Then the student can try again. You can also assign the deck for home practice!
