Description: Grab this deck to zero in on the different sounds of /v/ and /w/ using minimal pairs to help your students improve their pronunciation. It's easier to pronounce these sounds correctly if you can HEAR the difference. Your students will get lots of listening practice with this deck! For each card, students will hear a word pair. They must identify whether they've heard the SAME word twice or two DIFFERENT ones. For extra support, they can also click on the sound icons in the bottom left-hand corner to hear just the /v/ and /w/ sounds in isolation. All of the minimal pairs are for initial sounds.
