This is 23-card scavenger hunt can be used to review or teach students about the early American culture of the Anasazi (also called the Cliff Dwellers). While completing the hunt, students will learn where the Anasazi lived, why they are called Cliff Dwellers, what they excelled at doing, what happened to them, and more. To complete the hunt, students answer 11 multiple-choice questions. First, they read a question and its possible answers. Then they read the information that will help them choose the answer. If they choose the correct answer, they are directed to the next question. If their answer is incorrect, they can reread the text to find the correct answer. They receive instant feedback on whether or not they chose the correct answer. The final card in the deck challenges students to write 3 interesting things they learned about the Anasazi. The hunt can be used to supplement or review a study of early American cultures, to review the Anasazi cliff-dwelling society, as practice for reading informational text, or as an easy activity for a sub.
