Description: These 36 task cards are differentiated and cover unit rates. Students are asked to calculate unit rates given a larger ratio. For example, calculating the rate of speed given a total distance traveled over a total time (12 miles over 3 hours). Cards 1-6 have a grey background and contain definitions and examples to explain unit rates. Cards 7-12 have a purple background and are the easiest. Students are asked to drag and drop the correct number into the answer box given three possible choices. Cards 13-24 have a yellow background and are a little more difficult. Students are asked to type the unit rate. Cards 25-36 have a blue background and are the most challenging. These questions are word problems and students are asked to type the correct unit rate into the answer box. These cards are aligned to the common core 6.RP.A.2.
