Description: This interactive no-prep activity is an engaging way to help your students build a variety of receptive and expressive language skills with zoo nouns and animated ACTION VERBS (GIFS). Students are able to build a carnival by following 1-step directions to put specific back to zoo items into the zoo scene. After, there will be an action verb behind each item. On the next slide, students are able to answer WH questions, label verbs and increase MLU with the core word WANT. This activity includes: - A variety of zoo nouns - A variety of action verbs (e.g. singing, cooking, sleeping, kicking, swinging, eating, swimming, painting, hiding, bouncing, standing up, throwing, playing, coloring, climbing stairs, climbing ladder, drinking, running, jumping rope, dancing, jumping & walking) - Visual Sentence Strips to help students expand their utterances The following IEP goals can be targeted during the activity: - Following 1-step directions - Answering WH questions - Expanding Utterances & Increasing MLU - Labeling Verbs - Pragmatics (e.g. requesting) - Core Word WANT - Identifying common nouns
