Description: Your students are going to have so much fun "turning on" the lights to find out what is hiding at the beach! This deck targets the phrases "turn on", "I see", "like it", and "don't like" while learning summer and beach themed fringe vocabulary! 15 cards allow for repetitive practice for use and comprehension of the phrase "turn on". Your student can request (or follow directions) to click the light switch to reveal what is hiding in the dark on the next page! Simple repetitive cards provide multiple opportunities for modeling AAC and early communication! 15 follow-up cards contain a beach scene with a surprise summer item that was hiding in the dark! These follow-up cards contain visual support symbols for the phrase "I see ____" along with three picture choices for your student to "drag and drop" into the phrase! Your students will also have the opportunity to make comments/share preferences and opinions with visual supports for the phrases "like it" and "don't like" along with boxes to drag their item into to show their preference. Each target item has an added sound effect to maintain engagement and fun! A child on the beach will also allow the opportunity to practice following directions! (e.g., "put sunscreen on the boy" or "put the hat on the girl's head") This activity is not self-scoring and is meant to be played with a communication partner to increase expressive and receptive language and vocabulary skills.
