Description: This is a great Boom deck to play as part of ELA class or in the library/media center! In the first five cards of the deck, basic information about several genres of literature is reviewed. (Genres in this deck include realistic fiction, historical fiction, mystery, poetry, fantasy, nonfiction, biography, and autobiography). After reviewing the basic info about each of these genres, students must read information about a text or a short quote from a text on each card to determine the genre of the text. The deck has a baseball theme to increase student interest and engagement. Students will love dragging and dropping the baseball with the correct genre into the baseball glove.
