This deck offers a fun way to get information about how worried a child with commuunication challenges, such as stuttering or selective mutism, feels in different communication situations. That information is useful for treatment planning, fear hierarchies, and generating discussions. The deck begins with "Ozzie" who talks about how he sometimes gets worried when talking to different people or in some situations. Then there are 34 slides of communication situations with a short explanation and a real photogrraph.. The child drags the accompanying photograph of the communication situation to one of three visuals: very worried, a liittle worried or not worried at all. Each visual features "Ozzie" demonstrating the 3 levels of worried. Real photographs of children of multiple ethnicities are used and there is an option for audio directions. This deck is teacher-graded which means the information that the child provides is not saved into BOOM so I have created a data collection form to accompany the deck. It contains an 8 page, print or no print pdf (fillable text boxes) of a data collection form to document the child's responses and a fear hierarchy ladder, also with fillable text boxes. I print out the form prior to the session but you could have data collection form open in another window or on a different device.
