Description: #BTSBOOM This Boom Deck is designed to give students practice with measuring angles using a protractor (4.MD.C.6). It begins with two problems introducing a step-by-step method for using a protractor and then gives students 30 problems to practice more independently. Problems increase in difficulty throughout the deck. (Note: Cards can be "hidden" if you find any too difficult for your students.) Early problems begin with measuring to the nearest 5º and then advance to measuring to the nearest 1º. Each problem also asks students to classify the angle as either right, acute, obtuse or straight to reinforce standard 4.G.A.1 (classifying angles). The most challenging problems require students to measure angles that are not lined up to the zero line. Related standards: CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.MD.C.6 Measure angles in whole-number degrees using a protractor. Sketch angles of specified measure. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.G.A.1 Draw points, lines, line segments, rays, angles (right, acute, obtuse), and perpendicular and parallel lines. Identify these in two-dimensional figures. I hope your students enjoyed these exercises as mine did! -Shane MATH IS FUNdamental
