Description: Asking Questions during Conversations (Pragmatics, Conversation, Social Skills) INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Click on the title button (green text box containing the title) to go to the 2nd page. 2. If you opt to do the open-ended response, type your answer then click on either the 'choices' button (to teach other possible questions) or the arrow (to go to the next scenario). 3. If you click on the choices button, drag the choice (speech bubble) to the speech bubble near the characters. Click submit or the arrow to check your answer. This deck mainly targets asking relevant questions during conversations. The first few slides teach the importance of asking questions. 15 scenes are included and the child can either come up with his/her own question (fill in the blank/speech bubble) or pick from the 3 choices provided. Just leave the speech bubble blank and click the 'choices' button to see the choices. The 3 choices include 1 possible question, 1 unrelated question, and 1 related question but the expected response/information has already been stated. If the child has already asked his/her own question, you may also use the 3 choices to teach other possible questions to ask. After this, you may do role plays and continue the conversation. This then can target other goals, such as: 1. Asking follow-up questions 2. Making comments 3. Topic maintenance 4. Topic termination 5. Turn taking (regulating speaking turns) ...and more! Enjoy!
