Description: The Key Idea behind this game is that students learn how to round two-digit numbers to the nearest 10. This game is scaffold to support diverse learners. It has been my experience with my own students that rounding can be a difficult concept at first, but with support students can master the skill. This game is designed to support students just beginning to learn how to round. The first 10 cards in this deck use a number line to show what two 10s the given number falls between. The number line also has arrows to show if the number should be rounded up or down. After 10 problems the game switches and the number line is removed. Students will now click on the number that the given number should be rounded to. For example, if the given number is 37, both 30 and 40 are given and the student must click on the number that it would be rounded to. The final 10 problems are fill in the blank. Students will be given a number, and they will need to type in the number that it is rounded to. This game gradually gets harder, but is designed to support students along the way. CCSS: 3.NBT.A.1
