About me: <p>Hi! I'm Nikki, the founder of Teaching Autism, an award-recognized special education resource brand supporting educators and autistic learners around the world.</p><p>I'm an autism specialist with over 10 years of hands-on experience working with students aged 3–19. Throughout my career, I've completed extensive professional training in autism, special education, sensory integration, communication, Makaton, PECS, SCERTS, literacy, numeracy, safeguarding, and more.</p><p>My work has received recognition including runner-up for an Autism Heroes Award, #1 Best UK Autism Blog in 2018, and runner-up for an Online Social Network Award in 2019.</p><p>Through Teaching Autism, I create engaging, differentiated, neuro-affirming resources for preschool, elementary, and secondary learners. My resources cover functional life skills, literacy, math, communication, social-emotional learning, independence, and everyday classroom skills.</p>
