About me: <p>Chantel Touryan-Schaefer was a first-grade classroom teacher for 14 years before following her passion for reading instruction to become a Reading Specialist. Chantel is a Reading Specialist and Certified Dyslexia Advocate in California and is working toward her CALT certification. She is also a member of the Teacher Training Institute team at Chartwell school, training classroom teachers in structured literacy. She continues to support burgeoning readers throughout the state of California as the Early Literacy Coordinator for three charter schools.  </p> <p>Dave Sindrey was trained as a Speech-Language Pathologist and worked for many years in both Canada and Mexico coaching both professionals and families of children with permanent hearing loss. He is the author and illustrator of many activities for speech and language development, including Listening Games for Littles, the Cochlear Implant Auditory Training Guide, Troll in a Bowl games, and many activities in Advanced Bionics The ListeningRoom, He now lives in Canada and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Hearing Science at Western University.</p>
