Description: A beach-themed reading comprehension lesson to review with your students. This resource includes 4 short stories and 20 total WH questions. What's Included? This Boomâ„¢ Deck includes 4 two-sentence stories and 20 comprehension questions. Each story has 5 companion "wh" questions. Each question is accompanied by the 2-sentence story above. This 22 card deck is great for early readers working on comprehension. It will feel repetitive, but the idea is to teach students to look for details in the text. This deck is good practice teaching students how to reference the text for answers. The beach theme is also engaging for summer. There is an extra card at the end with "wh" questions that are meant to encourage further conversations with student(s). How do I use This Resource? This is a Boomâ„¢ Learning Resource which means that it is no prep/no print! You can also assign this resource to a student to work on individually. I prefer to work on this lesson in a group setting to practice reading aloud and incorporate other goals. Why do I need this? Reading comprehension resources can focus on a lot of goals at once in your speech therapy groups or small groups. This resource allows your students to work on reading aloud (can target articulation or fluency with this...even turn taking). This also works on receptive language and answering questions. You could also work on story retell with this.
