Description: This is an interactive speech and language activity. In this activity, the children receive mail—and it’s a present! The student will “open” each present and identify who received it (errorless) and what the item is (errorless). After identifying the toy, the student formulates a sentence using AAC supports, sentence strips, or verbal responses. Common toys and early vocabulary (first-words) are included. The student will then tell the mail truck to “Go!” using core vocabulary and embedded supports. Tasks are designed for successful completion with visual and auditory directions on each page. This resource can be used during the holiday season but is flexible for year-round use. It’s great for targeting: • Toys and common object vocabulary • Community helpers (mail carrier) • Categories • Sentence building & MLU • Early grammar • Who/what questions • Core vocabulary (“go,” “open,” “my,” “it is…”) Perfect for holidays, Christmas, Hanukkah, winter themes, birthdays, or everyday thematic play!
