Description: This is a set of 25 Boom Cards targeting identifying hidden social rules. It promotes social cognition and social inferencing by providing scenarios that tap into the pragmatics and social aspect of communication. It is an indirect way of heightening their awareness of the social rules that may not be as clear to our students as they are to everyone else. Each scenario has two different options to choose from. The immediate feedback from the interactive nature of the cards is very effective for our students. Allow them to practice working on this deck several times since students with special needs and/or limited social cognition need to be exposed to material (to be taught) again and again to internalize the concept.
