Description: This occupations deck is meant as a teaching deck for young learners. Each occupation contains a simple 4-page story with cartoon AND real-life pictures explaining what the community helpers do, what they use, and where they work. Learners can read through the entire story from start to finish or choose which helper they learn about by clicking on the picture of the occupation in the main menu. The story includes optional sound for non-readers who are reading the book independently- just press the speaker button. This deck can be used on its own. However, if you wish to test your learners on recognition and identification of helpers and/or their function, this teaching deck works in perfect collaboration with the Lisneyland Community Helpers decks. The same 15 helpers are included in the other decks. Lisneyland also offers a Community Helpers Bundle for your convenience. All decks, which work together and build on each other, are included in the bundle, including functions of occupations. Occupations (AKA Community Helpers) are important for young learners to learn and lead to a better understanding of their community and the world. This deck includes several examples of pictures and drawings of clearly defined community helpers in a variety of settings.
