Description: How you feel when something happens is called “emotion”. Do you feel emotions? Of course, everyone does! We all have emotions and we all feel emotions. Anger, fear, sadness, disgust, surprise, anticipation, trust, joy, happiness, and frustration… are all emotions that we feel. We need to remember though that no matter how we feel we still have to make good choices. It’s like this, feeling angry does not make it okay to yell or hit or kick or do anything else like that. Doing those things will not be making a good choice. But, cheering, clapping and being happy for a friend who got a prize is a “good” choice. Let's look at some different pictures. There are two different options to show your students. The first set is for older students. Ask your students: What could have happened in each picture? Why? Pick a picture that matches an emotion you have had. Why did you pick that picture? The second set is for younger students. Have them look at each picture and read the situation. Then have the students pick which of the three emotions is happening in the picture.
