Context Clues: St. Patrick's Day Edition

Description: In this fun, St. Patrick's Day themed activity, students will use context clues to determine the meaning of vocabulary associated with St. Patrick's Day.. Often, context clues may be in the form of synonyms or antonyms. After a brief introduction, students will be asked to read a 1-3 sentence passage embedded with a targeted vocabulary word. Next, they will determine the meaning of the targeted word by using context clues (there are three choices provided). Finally, they will determine if the clue was a synonym or an antonym. After reading each passage, student are asked to determine the meaning of the underlined vocabulary word.
