Digging for words: Fun with reading grids and letter recognition

Description: Have kids call out or write the space they would like to clear. Move the snow to the snow pile and see if a letter is underneath! All the grids start from the top left corner and follow the letters to make a path... if you uncover a rock or tree go back and try a different way to continue to clear your path until the finish. Write down or "collect" the letters along the way to see what the present is. Great for letter recognition, sequencing, problem-solving, visual perceptual skills and can tie in handwriting, spelling and reading.
