Description: This is a pack of social skills Boom cards to help elementary students work through the concept of when to give their opinion, and when to not go beyond 'thinking' it. Some of my students really struggle to determine when it is and is not appropriate to share their opinion, which unfortunately can really impact on their friendships. For example "Hmm, you're not a very good runner!" or "I don't want to come to your house on the weekend - your toys are boring". On the other hand, sometimes students do not realise when giving their opinion might be really helpful and kind (E.g. I love your hair today, I wish mine was as neat as yours!). These cards will teach students to differentiate between the times where they SHOULD share their opinion, and when they should not. Each card presents a student with 3x questions to work through each scenario. Regular education teachers, special education teachers, SLPs, or other support professionals could all benefit from using these task cards with their students!
