Description: Your students will identify a missing addend to complete an addition sentence for sums through ten on each slide. They will begin by crossing out the number of snowmen represented by the known addend. Your students will see a cute scene with snowmen in a row. They drag and drop X's from a stack to cross out snowmen based on the number of the given addend. They will listen to audio directions on slide 1. They will receive directions on slides 2 and 3 while working on a sample problem. Directions will be repeated on slides 4 and 5. Then, they will use the pictures, number sentences, and X's as clues while solving the problems. Alt text is provided on each slide. They will click "Next" after they cross out the snowmen. On the following card, they will identify the missing addend by clicking on one of three answer choices. 1.OA.C.5 Relate counting to addition and subtraction (e.g., by counting on 2 to add 2). 1.OA.C.6 Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on, making ten, decomposing a number leading to a ten, using the relationship between addition and subtraction, and creating equivalent but easier or known sums.
