Description: This slide deck encourages the use of tally marks to count by 5 and then add on. Students will be able to practice skip counting by 5 up to 50 and add the additional numbers after. For example, when counting a collection of 38 by 5s, the 3 left over need to be counted individually and added to 35. There are 15 slides that require students to enter the correct number of peppermint sticks into the white box. The deck is shuffled each time so students will not receive the same questions in the same order allowing them to repeat the deck. It aligns with the Ontario math curriculum for Grade 1 B1.
