I use this as an essential step to later help students understand comma rules which relate to complex sentences. *I recommend checking that students have previous knowledge about the difference between regular fragments and dependent clauses prior to working on these cards. Students should be familiar with subordinating conjunctions (subordinators/ aaawwubbis) to best complete these cards successfully. There is a quick review card at the beginning of the deck to help refresh essential vocabulary.
