Description: Halloween Graphs English Have your students work on their graphing skills, while they practice sorting, counting, number recognition, shape id, letter recognition, comparing skills and more in this fun Halloween math activity! Students will have FIVE graphs to work with (that's THIRTY working cards)! Here are some of the skills addressed in this cross-curricular activity: -collecting data and organizing it in graph form -sorting items by attributes (like shape, color, etc.) to build the graph -comparing and sorting 2d shapes (rectangles, circles and triangles) -comparing quantities using mathematical language like more, less and equal to -sorting lower case letters (d, e, f) -counting and identifying quantities -answering questions based on data represented on the graphs For each of the 5 graphs students will build the graph and answer the following questions about them. - How many of each item? - Which has more? - Which has less? -Which two are equal? Students will graph the following Halloween items: colorful magic potions, ghosts, pumpkins, cauldrons, Frankenstein shapes, spiders, cats, candy corn, and spiderweb letters! This is a fun and engaging Halloween activity to work on as a whole group, as part of your daily math routine, small group, intervention, extension or even as independent and centers practice.
