Description: Your students will practice sequencing pictures related to short stories to improve reading comprehension skills while using time-order words. Student directions are recorded, but the students will read the short stories independently. When they are finished reading, they will move the four pictures of each winter activity to the four boxes to show the order of the story, USE: 1. The first, second, and third cards have recorded instructions. 2. The students will identify the first sentence as the main idea for what they are reading. The first sentence is underlined. 3. The time order words "First," "Next," "Then," and "Last" are all in red print to help students identify the story order by using these clue words, 4. The students will drag each of the four pictures to a box to put the story in order. The boxes are numbered 1, 2, 3, and 4. 5. Each of the ten stories has two activities on two cards. There is a sequencing activity and an activity to respond to the time order words, before and after. 6. The activity with the words before & after is on the second card for the story. 7. The students will read the directions and then identify the sequencing card before or after the activity stated. They will drag that card to complete a winter scene.
