How do you start a conversation? There are many ways, of course, but this deck provides a simple way to do so. Here's what's included. The deck begins with an explanation about WHY conversations can be hard. Next, it asks the learner what they tend to struggle with the most: speaking, listening, remembering, or being flexible. It provides tips and a little assignment to practice for each of these skills. Next, the deck explains a 4-step conversation procedure: 1. Choosing appropriate vs inappropriate conversational topics 2. Asking questions 3. Listening skills / answering your own question 4. Being flexible enough to let the conversation flow After the lesson, a series of knowledge checks are provided. Some are multiple choice and some are fill in the blank so the learner can use their imagination to really think about what they could say under different circumstances. Have fun! -Liz
