This 37-card scavenger hunt will teach students about Native American Heritage Month and the people it celebrates. While completing the hunt, students will learn how the celebration of the Native American culture began, what impact the Indian Citizenship Act had on them, how they influenced the formation of the American government, and more. To complete the hunt, students answer 18 multiple-choice questions. First, they read a question and its possible answers. Then they read a passage where the answer is found. If they choose the correct answer, they are directed to the next question. If they choose an incorrect answer, they can revisit the passage to find the correct one. The final card in the deck challenges students to write 3 interesting things they learned from the hunt. It can be used as a Native American Heritage month activity, to supplement a study of American history or Native Americans, to practice reading informational text, for social studies or reading centers, or as an easy activity for a sub.
