This deck was made to practice decoding words using syllable rules or "chunking". There are 20 3 syllable and 20 4 syllable words to practice this decoding strategy. An example of how the child needs to use the tools at the bottom of the page to decode a word is given on the third card. As answers for how the child chunks the word are not given, this deck requires the help of a teacher/speech therapist. I have other word attack skills decks that individually target the syllable rules for each word structure. These can be found in my store and are labelled "word attack skills" including the specific word structure. Knowledge of syllable rules/decoding strategy "chunking" in required to use this deck.
