Help "Greater Than" Gus and "Less Than" Larry get something to eat with this inequality symbols game. Use it to teach students which direction the symbol goes for greater than or less than. This game is designed with visuals PLUS audio to help students who can't remember which symbol is which. Each set of five cards moves them progressively closer to using the symbols in your future assignments on the subject. Using the image of alligators' mouths, students will learn which direction each symbol goes. Directions: The alligators are in the water, and some apples fell out of the trees on to the grass just above their heads. For each card, move either "Greater Than Gus" or "Less Than Larry" up to the grass to eat some apples. Move the alligator that will get MORE to eat every time! ✪ Cards 1-5 contain alligators ready to eat, with symbols that are revealed when they are moved to the grass. Each bite makes a chomping sound. ✪ Cards 6-10 contain open mouths with teeth in the shape of greater than or less than. When the "greater than" symbol is moved, it plays "Greater Than Gus". When the "less than" symbol is moved, it plays "Less Than Larry". ✪ Cards 11-15 contain white greater than/less than symbols and when moved, the name of the symbol (just greater than or less than) is played.
