Description: How well do your students know fairy tale and nursery rhyme characters? This fun deck presents 25 New Year’s resolutions that could have been written by characters from traditional stories, such as Little Bo-Peep and Georgie Porgie. This is a delightful way to kick off the New Year or to use as an introduction to goal setting or traditional literature. Students are asked to read a short resolution and determine which familiar character may have written it. What’s included: *1 title card *1 instructional card *1 card with directions *25 cards with resolutions that a fictional fairy tale or nursery rhyme character may have written for themselves I have used this particular lesson with students ranging from 4th grade to 8th grade, and it always amazes me how many of these characters middle school students don’t know. It’s a terrific springboard for discussion and review of these two facets of literature, no matter what the age of student! :)
