This boom card deck helps students to memorize the steps of order of operations using the (PEMDAS/Please excuse my dear Aunt Sally approach)! Note: None of these problems contains exponents. However, I still always make sure my students are familiar with exponents so they fully understand the mnemonic. This activity includes: - 4 Vocabulary Building Cards: - Have students order the steps - Have students unscramble the mnemonic (please excuse my dear Aunt Sally). - Have students identify parentheses, braces, brackets, and exponents. - Match the correct vocabulary words to their definition (equation, expression, order of operations, evaluate. - 4 select all the order of operations steps. - 7 select the first step of each order of operation problem. - 1 answer why do we need the order of operations?
