Description: Looking for a fun way to practice decoding and syllabication? This winter / holiday / Christmas-themed deck is a great way to practice building two-syllable words with all six syllable types. As kids match syllables to form words, a secret picture is revealed! This deck is great for Orton-Gillingham or phonics instruction, as it builds not only decoding & spelling skills but also reading fluency. Plus kids will love the fun GIFs and music! How it Works: • First kids see 10 syllables that make 5 different words. They read each syllable (or click to hear them pronounced). • In subsequent cards, they see a picture then must click the syllables that make the word that matches the picture on the card. • If correct, they move on to the next card, which shows a new picture. The correctly matched syllables disappear to reveal a piece of the hidden picture underneath. • When all five words are done, students see the entire hidden picture, which also contains animated GIFS and music! Good to Know: • Audio is included for all directions, pictures & syllables, making this deck ideal even for young students or those with lower skills. • All six syllable types are included (closed, open, silent E, R-controlled, vowel team, _LE). All words are holiday-themed! • This deck has 5 different hidden pictures. That means there are 25 words and 50 syllables to read.
