Description: This is a fun deck to practice SOME of the fricative sounds /f/, /v/, /s/, /z/ in the initial positions of words/carrier sentences with your students. You can have them use the sounds at the word, phrase, or sentence level if you want. You can provide a carrier phrase loaded with fricative sounds such as, "Sammy sells the fine _____ at the fair" etc. Or have them generate their own carrier phrases. It is great for targeting phonological awareness, vocabulary and receptive/expressive language skills in mixed groups by having your students name all of the choices and have them describe their characteristics. Don't forget to have fun!! Words included: fish, feather, fairy, fork, fan, flamingo, vampire, volcano, violin, vulture, vacuum, vaccine card, soap, star, sun, safe, cereal, Saturn, scissors, zipper, zoo, zebra, zero, xylophone.
