Description: How many kids can you find in the picture? Students will add four, two-digit numbers to solve the puzzle, and then count how many kids they can find playing in the snow! Students will see four, two-digit numbers written in the vertical, standard algorithm form. Students will add the four numbers, showing all of their work directly on the card (including the regrouping/ carried over digit). Each time a student answers correctly and clicks "submit," the card will change to a new card featuring one additional missing puzzle piece. Once all pieces have been removed, a winter scene will appear with twenty-five, diverse kids playing outside in the snow (skiing, sledding, ice skating, general playing, etc.). On the last card, students will count and enter the total number of kids in the picture. 2.NBT.6 Add up to four two-digit numbers using strategies based on place value and properties of operations. 3.NBT.2 Fluently add and subtract within 1,000 using strategies and algorithms based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction. 4.NBT.4 Fluently add and subtract multi-digit whole numbers using a standard algorithm.
