Description: Acorn Quest is a super-fun autumn board game designed for highly motivating speech therapy sessions, with prompts that can be modified for early elementary, upper elementary, and even middle school teletherapy sessions! This activity was designed for students with speech goals in the area of morphology and can also be used to support reading comprehension, receptive language comprehension, definitions, vocabulary expansion, and understanding grammar and overall language support that also benefits ELA skills. Each space on the board game contains a prefix question prompt that contains a sentence with a word missing with three answer choices that have different prefix options for words. When the student answers the prompt correctly, there is a follow-up prompt testing the student's understanding of the meaning of the prefix with three multiple choice options. Your students will have so much fun playing with squirrels and collecting acorns that they will forget they are targeting language goals. Game Instructions: Help the squirrels gather as many acorns as they can! Play and pause the video to roll your dice and see how many spaces you will move. Choose your path across the board and tap the leaf you land on. After you answer the question under the leaf, your squirrel will get 1, 2, or 3 acorns. The squirrel who gets the most acorns wins!
